Amsterdam Canal Cruise – Airbnb Experience

Amsterdam Canal Cruise – Airbnb Experience

My first Airbnb experience was in Amsterdam, during my first solo trip, hosted by Rederij De Wester. This experience set the bar extremely high for my Airbnb experiences from there out. What started as a family’s side hustle showing tourists their beloved city, turned into not only their full-time gig, but one of 2019’s most popular & best reviewed experiences on Airbnb, ranking number 3 in the world! … And I totally get why.

When looking for a canal cruise, not only was Rederij De Wester’s on the longer side (two full hours) but it was one of the very few that included UNLIMITED food & drink. I was skeptical on whether or not this would prove to be true, but I promise you it was…

When you hop on the boat you’re greeted with a spread of freshly sliced Dutch cheese, stroopwafels, & many more delicious snacks. The boat also makes a pit stop during the cruise for your skipper to grab some original Amsterdam ‘bitterballen’ which were a 10/10 snack! Along with all of this food, the boat is stacked with any drink your heart desires; beer, wine, spirits, soda, juice, water, you name it & they got it.

If the open bar isn’t reason enough to immediately go book your cruise, the tour guides are top notch. My skipper was super knowledgeable about the areas we cruised through & left time for us to ask questions. As the only solo traveler in a group cruise of 8, I was happy to have such an interactive tour guide, that enabled a chill & inclusive environment. For a better idea of the cruise’s route, you can check out their airbnb listing.

To sum up my Amsterdam Experience Cruise by Rederij De Wester I’d say it was 2 hours of unlimited food/drink, experiencing amazing views of the city with insightful commentary, in a friendly atmosphere.

So for anyone heading to Amsterdam soon, get to booking!

It is so important for us to remember when travel is safe again to support local businesses + the tourism industry, whether that be in our hometown or in the city of our next trip.
